Description

Hall Place is an early 19th-century mansion, now used as offices. It is located on the west side of South Street, Havant. The building is rectangular and symmetrical, with a hipped slate roof. The east front, facing the street, is two stories high with four upper windows. The walls are of yellow brick in a Flemish bond pattern, featuring a parapet with stone coping and a projecting brick band. Rubbed flat arches detail the window openings. The windows are sash windows set in reveals. A large Doric porch with coupled columns, six triglyphs, and plain shafts, shelters a segmental-arched doorway. The doorway has a radiating fanlight, architrave, impost blocks, and a panelled door, all accessed by three stone steps. The symmetrical south elevation features two two-story bowed fronts, each with two windows, incorporating similar detailing and a brick-dentilled band to the parapet.
