Description

Middlestoke Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It is a timber-framed building with a later addition that creates an L-shape. The walls are a mix of roughcast and brick, topped with a thatch and tile roof. The symmetrical south front features two storeys and two windows, with roughcast walls, casement windows, and a plain boarded door. The east elevation reveals the line of an earlier catslide roof as a roughcast gable. The north side, also two storeys with two windows, has red brick walls laid in Flemish bond with blue headers, exposed frame sashes, and a 20th-century doorway. In the angle of the building, there are outshots with tile roofs, tile valleys, and a small area where the timber frame is exposed.
