Description

Old Pound Cottage is an early 19th-century building, originally a one-story, four-window structure. It has a thatched roof, which is hipped at the ends, and rendered walls. The windows are casements with diagonal leaded lights. A plain doorway is sheltered by an open porch supported by two rustic poles, with the thatch extended over the porch. A modern extension has been added to the north end. The cottage occupies the site of a former cattle pound located at the edge of Hook Common.
