Description
The stable block to the north of Winchfield House is a late 18th-century building. It is connected to the house by a high wall and a low wall. The stable block is two stories tall and originally had a symmetrical design. On the south face, there is a slightly projecting higher center that features a pediment gable, a clock, and a full-height arched window. The ground floor has three windows on the west side and two on the east side. Above these, there are two modern dormers on the west and two small windows on the east, positioned below the eaves. The roof is covered with red tiles and is hipped at both ends, sloping down to the ground floor eaves at the rear (north side). Atop the flatter roof of the center section is an octagonal wooden bell turret with a domical cap. The building is associated with two 18th-century lead cisterns, one of which is dated 1788, as well as a white stone wellhead with a hexagonal shape and high relief carvings, including putti, which are likely of Italian origin.
