Description
The Brambles is a Grade II listed building located on Church Street in Crondall. This house dates from the 17th and 18th centuries and features two storeys. It is a long, narrow timber-framed structure that has had a wing added to the east in the 18th or 19th century. The older western facade has four windows and is topped with a red tile roof that is half-hipped at the north end and features a half-hipped tile-hung gable at the south end. A massive central stack is prominent on this facade.
A later brick wall, which is now rough-cast, includes a first-floor band. The windows are casements, and there is a plain door. The north gable and the return on the east side display exposed timber framing with brick infilling. The taller attached units consist of two parallel ranges, with the roof extending to lower eaves at the wider south end. The building features 2:1 windows, red tile gabled roofing, and painted brickwork with a broken first-floor band. Sash windows are also present.
