Description
Poulter's Bridge is a late 18th-century bridge located over the Basingstoke Canal in Crookham Village. It features a single cambered brick arch that spans both the waterway and the towpath. Below the parapet, there is a projecting band that ends in square pillars topped with stone caps. The bridge is constructed of red brick in English bond, with cutwaters and cast iron discs at the ends of the ties. An oval cast metal plaque on the bridge reads: "Poulters Bridge: built 1792," with a central relief of a canal barge and small lettering above stating "Basingstoke Canal" and below "restored jubilee year 1977: Crookham Village Association."
