Description

Dovas Cottages, located on Well Road in Crondall, is a group of three attached dwellings from the 18th century. The buildings are symmetrical, featuring a higher and older central unit that is one storey with an attic or two storeys, arranged with two windows on the outer sections and three in the center. The cottages have red tile roofs with three central gables, while each wing has gables at the ends and two dormers above the eaves. The red brickwork includes a first-floor band in the center, and the windows are casements. A central Victorian porch with a strutted frame and curving barge-boards, along with brick cheeks, adds to the character of the cottages. There are modern extensions at the rear, including one for No 1, designed in a similar style.
