Description

The Old Vicarage is an 18th-century house situated on the west side of Church Street, Crondall. It is a two-storey building with an attic, originally featuring five windows, with three dormers. The roof is covered in red tiles and gabled on the sides, with flat roofs to the dormers, and it has brick dentil eaves. The walls are built of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, featuring rubbed flat arches, stone sills, and a plinth. Later sash windows have been installed, although the original windows remain in the dormers. A doorcase is located in the second bay from the south, incorporating a pediment supported by brackets, an architrave, panelled reveals, and a six-panelled door with stone steps leading up to it. A two-storey wing, dating from around 1900, is set back to the south, and a more recent garage wing has been added to the north.
