Description
The gatepiers on the north-east side of the entrance courtyard at Tylney Hall were likely built around 1902 by Robert Weir Schultz. They are constructed from banded red brick and stone and are connected to the end of the ballroom wing by a short wall featuring diaper brickwork. There is a single outer pier that is slightly larger and has a shafted plan, positioned beyond the main pair of piers. The stone cornice of the piers extends along the top of the wall as coping, with an oversailing cornice on the larger outer pier. This larger pier also features raised block patterning on the stone banding.
