Description

Oakholme and Shepherds Cottage is a building dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. It has two storeys and features three windows on the ground floor. The timber-frame is exposed on the north gable and the front (east) side, where a projecting wall indicates a former jetty. The roof is covered with red tiles, and the gable on the south side is tile-hung, while the rear has a lower, narrower gabled roof. The walls are made of painted brickwork, which infills the timber frame. The building has modern casement windows, with two on the first floor that rise above the eaves, creating a dormer effect. There is a plain door.
