Description
The barn at Furzehall Farm, dating from the 17th to 18th century, is a timber-framed structure with an aisled design along its west side. The west side features a red brick plinth with weatherboarding above, while the east side is constructed of red brick with a plinth. It has an old tiled, half-hipped roof and opposite double doors, spanning approximately seven bays. The barn displays substantial framing, including braces, tie beams, through purlins, and a slight ridge piece.
Adjoining the barn to the west is an outbuilding, dating from the 18th century and later, made of red brick with a front that has been rebuilt. It has an old tiled hipped roof and measures around six bays in length. This barn and outbuilding are included for their group value, as they form a cohesive group with Furze Hall Farmhouse and the range of cowsheds located to the rear.
