Description

This is an early to mid-19th century lodge, originally associated with Uplands. It is constructed of painted brick with a tiled roof and has a T-shaped layout. The main section features coped Flemish gable ends. The building has cylindrical stacks, one of which is battlemented and decorated with bas relief geometric patterns. It is a single storey high with three casement windows, featuring latticed leaded glazing. The two outer windows facing south are gabled oriels, supported by brackets and featuring bas relief trefoils above the arched central window. Nos. 61 (Uplands) and 67, together with the gate piers at Uplands, form a group with Uplands Cottage and the Old Turnpike – Uplands Cottage is recognised as a building of local interest.
