Description
The lodge at Boundary Oaks School, located on Wickham Road, was built in 1808 and designed by architect Sir Jeffry Wyatville. It is constructed of grey brick, with a later addition of a red brick southern wing and walls on both sides. The building features white stone dressings and is designed as a Tudor gatehouse that also serves as a lodge house. The structure and its walls are crenellated, with a stone stringcourse below. A large Tudor carriageway arch, which has ribbed wooden doors, is flanked by stone turrets. There is a panel beneath a dripstone mould above a Gothick arched window. A square tower separates the red brick lodge house, which has quoins. The lodge and Boundary Oaks School are part of a group.
