Description

The Southern Barn at Great Posbrook Farm is a late medieval aisled barn, approximately 100 feet long. It features weatherboarding and has double doors on opposite sides. The barn has a very steeply pitched half-hipped tiled roof, with one side covered in corrugated iron. Inside, it boasts massive timbers, including tie beams, Queen posts, collars, and mostly arched braces, along with some straight braces. Great Posbrook forms a group with the eastern and southern barns, the store shed, the small barn, and the cartshed and pigsties at Great Posbrook Farm, which are of local interest only.
