Description
Old Clarendon House is an 18th-century building that was once a public house. It features a roughcast exterior with a string course and a parapet that has a raised panel in the center. The house has two storeys and an attic, with two gabled dormers. There are three sash windows with glazing bars on the upper floor. The ground floor has two bays that flank a former round-arched doorway, which now has a semi-circular fanlight that has been converted into a window. The doorway is now located at the side of the house. Old Clarendon House is prominently positioned facing down the High Street. It forms a group with Nos 3 to 39 (odd) and is associated with Nos 2, 6 and 8, Nos 14 to 18 (even), Nos 22 to 26 (even), Rockstone House, and Nos 5 to 11 (odd), The Old Lodge, and Old Lodge Cottage on High Street, Titchfield. The buildings at Nos 14 to 18 (even) and Nos 22 to 26 (even) are noted as buildings of local interest.
