Description
Number 8 High Street is a 18th-century house with a façade that suggests it may be older. The exterior is made of painted brick and the house is built in two parts, each two storeys high. The northern section features a string course, cornice, a panelled parapet, and a double span hipped roof covered with old tiles. It has five windows, although two of them on the first floor are blank. The chimney pots are from Fareham and have white slip bands. The southern section is lower in elevation and also has a parapet and an old tiled roof, with two windows. There is a porch supported by two columns and topped with a pediment. The entrance includes a door with a fanlight and a six-panelled door, with the top two panels now glazed. Numbers 4 to 16 (even) on the street form a group with this property.
