Description
This is an 18th-century range of buildings located on the north side of East Street, Titchfield. The facades are of stucco or render, with the exception of No. 29, and all have old tiled roofs. The buildings have two storeys, although Nos. 31 and 33 have a mansard roof with a parapet, and Nos. 35 and 39 have dormers.
Nos. 29, 31, 33 and 39 each feature windows with sashes, with Nos. 31 and 33 having paired sashes with glazing bars. No. 29 has a ground floor bay, and Nos. 31, 33 and 39 have angular ground floor bays. No. 31 features a door with a pediment, pilasters and a radial fanlight. No. 35 has a carriageway arch under the west side, with a reproduction doorcase. No. 37 has a C19 angular ground floor bay with unbarred sashes. No. 39 has a window on the west side under an advanced hipped gable, and a small shop window on the ground floor.
The buildings form a group with Nos. 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 11, 14 to 18 (even), 22 to 26 (even), Rockstone House, The Old Lodge, Old Lodge Cottage, and Old Clarendon House. Nos. 14 to 18 (even) and Nos. 22 to 26 (even) are buildings of local interest.
