Description
Number 6 on High Street is a building dating from around 1840. It features a stucco facade with a string course at the first floor, an eaves cornice, and a hipped roof covered with modern pantiles. The building is two storeys tall and has three windows, each set in moulded architraves and fitted with sashes that have glazing bars. The doorway is adorned with pilasters, a projecting cornice, and a rectangular fanlight, with steps leading up to it. This building is part of a group of listed structures on High Street and Union Street, which includes the listed street lamps, Nos 1 and 2 the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, Church Place, and the Lion Hotel and No 10 East Street. Number 45 on High Street is noted for its local interest.
