Description
Nos 3 and 3A on High Street are 18th-century buildings that were refronted in the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed of painted brick and feature a band at the second floor, a brick eaves cornice, and a coped parapet. The buildings have a double span, old tiled roof and stand three storeys tall. The second floor has two windows, while the first floor has four windows, all of which are unbarred sashes with moulded architraves and bracketed labels. A delicate iron balcony runs along the width of the first floor above modern shop fronts. These buildings are part of a group that includes all the listed buildings on High Street and Union Street, the listed street lamps, Nos 1 and 2, the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul on Church Place, the Red Lion Hotel, and No 10 East Street. No 45 on High Street is noted for its local interest.
