Description
No 20 High Street is an early 19th-century building constructed of red brick with a hipped slate roof. It stands three storeys tall and includes a basement. The facade features three windows, with some of the lower halves of the sashes missing glazing bars and earlier 20th-century glazing. The windows are adorned with stuccoed lintels. A semi-circular porch with a dentil cornice and slender Doric pillars enhances the entrance. This building is part of a group of listed buildings on High Street and Union Street, which includes the listed street lamps, Nos 1 and 2, the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, the Red Lion Hotel, and No 10 East Street. No 45 High Street is noted for its local interest.
