Description

This is a terrace of eight cottages located in North Wallington, likely dating to the 18th century or earlier. Four of the cottages, numbers 1, 2, 7, and 8, have facades rendered with a rough stucco finish, while the remaining cottages have a smoother stucco finish. All the cottages have steeply pitched slate roofs, with those of numbers 4 to 8 being slightly higher than the others. They feature prominent chimneys. The cottages are arranged over two storeys, with generally one window per property. Most windows are early 19th-century casement windows, some with glazing bars. Cottage number 5 has a dormer window that breaks through the eaves of the roof. Numbers 1 to 8, together with a barn attached to number 1, form a group of buildings with significance to the nearby Wallington Bridge and Wallington Hill.
