Description
Poplar Cottage, also known as Pyle Hill Cottage, is a 17th-century building that is believed to have been the old Malt House. It is a wood-framed structure with two storeys, including dormers that have cills at eaves level. The roof is covered with red tiles and features three gabled dormers. The ground floor walls are a mix of brick-nogged framework and plaster. The windows are casements, and there are separate timber porches with a cambered archway beneath the gable. Inside, there is a massive base for the chimney, and a rearward extension is currently under construction.
