Description
This building is a stable range that has been widened for use as a granary or oast house. It dates from the 18th century, with a late 19th century extension. The walls are made of malmstone, and it has a slate roof. The front, facing west, is a long two-storey range with a symmetrical design. The upper section features a central oval arched loft doorway, flanked by two pairs of widely spaced arched windows. The ground floor has an arcade of eleven oval arches, each with keys, impost blocks, and stop-chamfered stone pillars on bases. Two of the arches remain open as doorways, while the others are filled with stone walling that includes three windows and a doorway. Behind the arcade, there is an inner wall. The structure has been widened at the rear, which has a higher ground level and a flatter roof slope compared to the original ridge, featuring a series of roof vents and boarded walling.
