Description

This is a 17th-century house located in Lower Froyle. It is constructed of brick and tile. The front (east) of the house presents a symmetrical facade with two storeys and three windows, with the central window filled in. The roof is half-hipped, featuring an eaves cornice which is now cemented. The brickwork is in a Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches, and the first-floor bond is deepened to meet the top of the flat arches. The building stands on a high plinth over a rubble stone base. Leaded casement windows are present. A 20th-century wood porch with a shingled roof has been added to the front. A rear extension to the north side exhibits an exposed timber frame with brick nogging, featuring irregular openings. A further 20th-century extension, matching the materials and design, fills the angle at the rear.
