Description
Beech Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, with extensions added in the late 20th century. It features stone and brick walls topped with a tiled roof. The symmetrical front faces east and includes a gable on the north side. The house has two storeys and an attic, with two windows. The roof is plain and has a central chimney stack. The front gable is covered in tiles arranged in scalloped bands, and there are brick dentil eaves. The walls are made of roughly-coursed chalkstone, which has been painted, with brick dressings that include cambered openings and a plinth. The windows are casements. A late 20th-century gabled brick porch is present, featuring a six-panelled door and small side windows. There is a plaque in the wall that is incised with "R.C. 1719." The rear additions from the late 20th century are constructed of painted brick with a tiled roof and also feature casement windows.
