Description

Long Barlands is a house dating from the 18th century, with extensions from the 19th and 20th centuries. It features brick walls and a thatched roof. The front, facing south, is two storeys high with four windows, although the area above the entrance is blank. There are set-back extensions at each end, each with one window. The roof is half-hipped and extends to a lower eaves on the west side, with tiles above the east end outshot. The walls are painted in Flemish bond, and the ground floor openings are cambered with a plinth. The windows are casements. A 20th-century porch with a tiled roof and brick cheeks is present. Above the doorway, there is a stone plaque inscribed with "T.T.M. 1773."
