Description
Bramshott Manor is a house that dates back to around 1225, with later additions from approximately 1300, 1430, and 1500. The ground floor features rubble sandstone walls with stone dressings, some rendered sections, and a small area of brickwork. The upper walls are mostly tile-hung, with a small section of exposed timber frame. The roof is tiled, with hips, gables, and gablets.
Originally, the building was a small single-storey hall, which was later expanded with a timber-framed upper floor. A significant northern addition was made around 1430, followed by an eastward wing around 1500, resulting in a complex structure with varying heights and shapes but similar architectural features. The west facade is two storeys high with three windows, a hipped roof, tile-hung upper walls featuring scalloped bands, and lower walls made of rubble stone with a plinth. It has three coupled and cusped stone window frames beneath hood moulds and a boarded door.
Inside, the manor boasts painted roof timbers, a 16th-century oak staircase, and a fireplace dating from around 1530.
