Description
Glade Farm Cottages, originally Glade Farmhouse, consist of four dwellings that date from the 18th century and the early and late 19th century. The building features brick walls and a tiled roof. The front (east) elevation is two storeys high with an attic, three dormers, six upper windows (two of which are now filled), and four lower windows (one filled). There is also a lower extension from the early 19th century that is two storeys tall with one window, set back at the north end. The roof has a half-hipped design at the south end, with brick dentil eaves and flat-roofed dormers.
The entrance is located slightly north of the center and has an arched opening above it (now filled) with a stone key and impost block. To the north of the entrance is a single wide window, and to the south are four upper windows (one filled). The walls are constructed in header bond and feature rubbed flat and round arches, along with a plinth. The windows include sashes in exposed frames, with some casements. The original doorway is plain and includes a fanlight and a six-panelled door; a similar later door is located immediately to the north. There is also a French window on the south side and a boarded door in the extension. The rear part of the building, dating from the 19th century, forms a double pile.
