Description
Truncheaunts is a house built in the late 18th century, with additional wings added in the late 19th and late 20th centuries. The main structure features red brick walls laid in header bond, with cambered rubbed arches over the openings. It has a ripped roof and a symmetrical front on the north side, which is two storeys high and has three windows. The windows are sashes set in exposed frames. The entrance includes a tall, thin doorcase with a moulded canopy, thin pilasters, a fanlight with lead radiating decoration, and a six-panelled door.
The east wing, added in the 19th century, is lower at two storeys and has brick upper walls above malmstone lower walls, with casement windows and a boarded door. The west wing, added in the 20th century, is also two storeys high with two windows, featuring tile-hung upper walls above brickwork, casements, and French windows. The rear elevation of the main block is tile-hung and includes a central two-storeyed projection with a boarded gable and walls constructed in rat-trap bond.
