Description

Townsend Lodge is a mid-19th century building located on Townsend Road in Baughurst. It features a symmetrical front (south) elevation with two storeys and an attic, comprising three windows. The roof is hipped and tiled, with a catslide at the rear. The building has brick dentil eaves and a raised central section that forms a pediment, which encloses a lunette window. The walls are made of red brick laid in Flemish bond, with cambered openings, stone cills, and a plinth. Four pilasters are present, linked by a top band and architraves made of flint rubble. The windows are casements, and there is a six-panelled door set within a later gabled porch, which has boarded cheeks and a tiled roof featuring scalloped bands.
