Description
Farm Cottage, located 50 yards north-west of the farmhouse at Tile Barn Farm, dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. This two-storey building features a roof made of old tiles, which is half-hipped at the east end and has a catslide at the rear. The eastern unit has a centrally located shafted stack, while the west end gable boasts a large attached stack that tapers and contains nine pigeon holes, complete with a plinth and an incised brick marked with the date 1783. The walls are made of red brick in Flemish bond, and there is a first-floor band on the main part of the front. The ground-floor openings are cambered, and the cottage has a cement plinth, casement windows, and plain doors.
