Description

This is a fulling mill dating from the 17th, 18th, and early and late 19th centuries, with a more recent house attached to the north corner. The mill itself is a large rectangular building with a half-hipped tile roof. It is constructed of brick in both English and Flemish bond, the latter identifiable by the blue headers. A central archway serves as an inlet for the water channel. The building has a few small, original openings with leaded casements and two larger Victorian sash windows on each of its main faces. The north end of the mill extends southwest as a two-story house, also with a tile roof and red brick walling in English bond. The house has cambered ground-floor openings, casements, some dating back to the early 19th century, and a solid doorframe supporting a bracketed canopy. The northwest side of the house section has been lowered to accommodate two modern flat-roofed dormers, and it features a brick-nogged timber-framed wall.
