Description
Hilliers is a building that dates back to the early 17th century, with modifications made in the mid-19th century. Originally, it featured a three-bay timber frame, with entrances and staircases on either side of a large chimney breast located between the second and third bays. While some of this original structure remains, the exterior has been altered to reflect the later date. The southeast front is now one storey with an attic and includes four windows. The roof is tiled with a decorative ridge and features gabled dormers adorned with decorative bargeboards. There are coupled diagonal flues on a rectangular stack, and the walls are rendered with a high plinth. The windows are casements, and there is a large timber porch on a brick base that has a decorative front, enclosing a double half-glazed door. At the rear and east end, there are modern extensions, including a flat roof above the ground floor, where the upper gable reveals some exposed framing.
