Description

Nos. 1 and 2 Northenby Cottages are a house dating from the 17th century, with later 18th-century brick cladding, and modern extensions to the rear. The house is one storey and has an attic, with four windows. The roof is tiled and half-hipped, featuring two modern hipped dormers with sills at eaves level. A substantial square brick stack rises from the centre of the roof, decorated with panels. The walls are red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, using blue bricks as headers. The ground floor windows are cambered and have leaded casements. A central boarded door is set within a solid frame.
