Description
Wellbrook House is a Grade II listed building constructed between 1875 and 1877 by G. G. Scott, junior. This house features a simple yet stylish design, reflecting early 18th-century proportions and mid-19th-century Georgian details. The south-east elevation is symmetrical, consisting of two storeys and an attic with four windows. It has a steep hipped tile roof, brick dentil eaves with a stepped fascia that is broken above the openings, and two hipped dormers with casement windows. The walls are made of red brick in English bond, with rubbed flat arches, a first-floor band that is broken above the openings, and a plinth. There are flush blue panels between the openings and blue bands at the cill and plinth levels. The windows are sashes set in reveals.
The north-west elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a similar design, featuring an almost central plain arched doorway with a window above it and two windows to the north side. Attached to this is a single-storeyed flat-roofed north wing that matches the main style of the house, along with a screen wall connected to a small stable block that has been converted into a garage.
