Description
The Old Post House is an 18th-century building located on Bidden Road in Upton Grey. It is two storeys high and features three windows on its south-east facade. At each end, there are single-storeyed outshots that are set back, creating a continuous rear wall that adjoins the roadway. The roof is covered with old tiles, hipped at the north end and featuring a tile-hung gable at the south, with a catslide at the rear and low eaves that return below the hips as eaves of the outshots. The rear, which faces the road, has three modern hipped dormers, each fitted with three-light casements. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches above the windows. The sashes are set in reveals, with two on the ground floor being widened. The doorway is topped with a small flat canopy supported by cut brackets and has a solid frame with a boarded door. At the rear, there is an old door and a variety of casements.
