Description

Peacock Cottage, along with No 9, dates from the 17th century, with later 19th-century alterations. It is a one-storey and attic cottage with an irregular arrangement of windows. The roof is thatched, with eyebrow dormers over the upper windows. The timber frame is exposed on the front elevation, featuring red brick infill and red brick walls on the north side, while the south side has tile-hung upper walls that extend around the south end. A small projecting unit, possibly an oven, with a tile roof is located at the south corner. The windows are casements. There are two plain boarded doors, with a thatched hood over the entrance to No 7.
