Description
The Bolton Arms Public House is a building that dates from the 16th, 17th, and 19th centuries. It has two storeys and features three ground-floor windows. The roof is hipped and covered with old tiles, and there is a massive shafted stack. The upper part of the front (east) wall has exposed timber framing, which indicates a later extension to the north, along with painted brick infill and other types of walling. The windows include casements and one large sash on the north side. There are three plain doors, two of which have moulded canopies, while the central door features a hatchment above that displays a coat of arms and the motto "AYMEZ ROYAULTE."
