Description

Nos 34, 36, and 38 on Swan Street are a terrace of timber-framed houses dating from the 17th century and early 19th century. The houses are two storeys high and feature three windows on the front (south-east) side, which is from the later period. They have a tiled roof and red brick walling laid in Flemish bond, with a first-floor band and flat arches that have turned-down ends at the ground floor, along with a plinth. The rear of Nos 34 and 36 shows some exposed framing. The houses have old cast-iron casements, and the gabled doorways are adorned with deep brick pilasters that support pointed openings, featuring boarded doors set in solid chamfered frames.
