Description
The Church of St. Mary, built in 1816 with alterations around 1850, features a plain rectangular plan. It has a western tower, which is flanked by a vestry on the north side and an entrance lobby on the south side. The church is topped with slate roofing, and the main block is roughcast on a stone plinth. Each side of the church has three coupled cusped lights set in chamfered reveals. The east window is designed in a Perpendicular style with a pointed arch and wooden tracery. The later tower, constructed of yellow brick in header bond, consists of three plain stages that are marked by weathered stone bands, slender openings, and a steep slate roof, along with a plinth. The side blocks feature pointed doorways.
