Description
The Japanese lantern located at the center of the Wild Garden is a garden lantern from the 19th or early 20th century. It is made of stone and features carvings in the Japanese style. The lantern includes a plinth, a short column with annular mouldings, a polygonal lantern with small openings and relief carvings, and a swept roof topped with an onion-like finial.
This lantern is one of three positioned at the center and at either end of the Wild Garden. It serves as an interesting garden feature and has significant group value with other listed items in this important garden design.
