LAVERSTOKE FREEFOLK Primary School

II 1855, by G.E Street. L-shaped school with house (of 1 and a half storeys) attached on the east side, with minor recent additions at the rear. Tile roof, half hipped above the house, Tudor stack. Walling is of flint with red brick dressings; bands, moulded weathered band, cambered openings, buttresses, plinth. Later casements; the main (west) gable containing a three-light window of plate tracery with three cusped roundels. The prominent porch has a heavy timber-frame on a base wall, the arched gable formed by curved crossed framing; boarded door. Plaques on the west gables have Gothic inscribed monograms, MP (Melville Portal) and CMP.
