Description
Laverstoke Primary School, built in 1855 by G.E. Street, is an L-shaped school with an attached house that has one and a half storeys. There are minor recent additions at the rear. The building features a tile roof, which is half hipped above the house, and a Tudor-style stack. The walls are constructed of flint with red brick dressings, including bands, a moulded weathered band, cambered openings, buttresses, and a plinth. The windows are later casements, with the main (west) gable showcasing a three-light window featuring plate tracery and three cusped roundels. A prominent porch has a heavy timber frame on a base wall, with an arched gable formed by curved crossed framing and a boarded door. The west gables display plaques with Gothic inscribed monograms, MP (Melville Portal) and CMP.
