Description
Priory Farmhouse dates to the late 18th century and early 19th century. It is a two-storey farmhouse with an attic, presenting a regular, symmetrical south-east facade of three windows. The roof is tiled, with a half-hipped section at its eastern end, a catslide slope at the rear, and brick dentil eaves. Three gabled dormers light the attic space, and the property has substantial chimney stacks. The walls are constructed of flint and brick rubble, with flush red brick dressings that include quoins, horizontal bands at the eaves and below the first floor, and panels around the windows (with cambered heads at ground floor level). Three-light casement windows are present, with one at the ground floor on the east side set within a brickwork projection covered by a hipped tile roof. A boarded door is housed within a solid frame and sheltered by a large open porch, featuring an arch-braced gable and framing that rests on a low wall. The side elevations similarly display flintwork with a reticulate brick pattern and panels containing windows.
