Description
Chute House is a building from 1773 that was formerly a rectory and has been altered since 1900. It is two storeys tall, with an attic and basement, and features five windows. The south front has a symmetrical design, highlighted by a tall hipped tile roof, two flat-roofed dormers, and a large fully-moulded cornice. The walls are made of red brick with a header band, rubbed flat arches, stone sills, and a high plinth. The windows are sash style set in reveals, and there is a plain central doorway. Later additions include a large single-storey half-octagonal bay on the east side, a two-storey set-back wing with two windows on the west end, and a single stone entrance unit along the north side of the three-bay east elevation. The bay and entrance block feature brickwork embellishments, including parapet mouldings and keystones above the arches.
