Description

Bridge Cottage is a 15th-century timber-framed building of Wealden type located on the west side of High Street in Uckfield. The north end of the building has been truncated. The ground floor has been rebuilt using red brick with grey headers, while the upper part features close-studded timber framing with plaster infilling. The recessed center of the building includes a bracket in the middle and curved braces at each end. The north end has been demolished and replaced with red brick on the ground floor, topped with a pentice roof. The building has a tiled roof, casement windows, one small bay on the ground floor, and features two storeys plus an attic, with three windows and one dormer.
