Description
Olive's Cottage, also known as Victoria Wine, is a Grade II listed building located on Uckfield High Street. This structure consists of three shops (Nos 122, 124, and 126) with a house above (Olive's) and another house behind (Olive's Cottage). It is a 15th-century timber-framed building, with some exposed timbering at the back on the first floor of Olive's Cottage, though it has been refronted in the 18th century. The building is two storeys high and features four windows. The exterior is made of painted brick and includes four pilasters, topped with a slate roof. The first floor retains its original glazing bars. A plaque on the building reads "Olive MLXV." The south front has an obtusely pointed doorway, and there is a small oriel window with wooden mullions at the back. Additionally, the back wing has a modern extension.
