Description

Stone House is an 18th-century guest house, originally associated with the Convent of the Holy Child Jesus, situated on the High Street in Mayfield. The building is two storeys high, with a semi-basement level, and presents a five-window front. It is constructed of ashlar and features a parapet and a tiled roof. The basement has casement windows with stone mullions, while the upper floor has sash windows with intact glazing bars and obtusely-pointed heads. A porch with Ionic columns and a modillion cornice provides access to a doorway with an obtusely-pointed head.
