Description
Winchelsea Post Office and Household Stores, also known as Anvils (Finch of Winchelsea), is a single building dating from the 17th century or earlier. The structure features a timber frame that has been refaced with painted brick on the ground floor and is tile-hung above. On the first floor, there are casement windows, while the ground floor includes shop windows, with those at Anvils dating from the 19th century. At the east end, there is a carriage archway that reveals exposed timbering in the ceiling and east wall. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a total of six windows and two hipped dormers.
