Description

Elders House is an 18th-century building located on the south side of Mermaid Street. It has two storeys and an attic, with a floor below the ground level due to the house being situated higher than the street. The front features two windows and is clad in weatherboarding resting on a brick base. The roof is tiled and includes one modern dormer. The entrance is accessed by climbing eight steps, which lead to a doorway topped with a large flat hood and a rectangular fanlight. There is also an entrance to the floor beneath the ground floor, accessible via the steps leading up to the front door. All the listed buildings on Mermaid Street are part of a group.
