Description

The End House, located at 15 Market Street, is a building that likely originated as a single house in the 18th century but is now divided into two houses. It has been refaced with yellow brick and features a wide wooden eaves cornice with modillions. The building has a tiled roof and consists of two storeys plus an attic, with one window and one dormer on each side. Number 14 has an additional two-storey section with one window, which is fronted with red brick on the ground floor and tiles above, separated by a wooden cornice. This section was probably jettied out originally and then underbuilt, and it may have been part of the adjoining house at 9 East Street. The doorways have frames with small flat hoods above, although the doors themselves are modern. Numbers 8 to 15 Market Street form a group.
